The 4th of Jan 1700/1 Then laid out a Mill road for John Brown and Thomas Curtis as followeth (viz) from their owne land through Richard Gibbs land the most convenient way for them both to Michael Buffins Creek, thence through Michael Buffins land to John Underhills Land, so through Hugh Hutchins along by his house into his lane, from thence to Edward Andrews and so along the most convenient way to the Mill, -- by us whose names are underwritten--Abraham Brown Junr., Edward Boulton, Caleb Shreeve, Benjamin Scattergood Robert Powell, Francis Parks, Jacob Decow, James Anteram, Richard French Joseph Pancoats, David Curtis, Nathaniel Records. p 20 1683--of (Michael Buffin and others indicted on complaint of John Lambert) The indictment being that the aforesaid person the second of July 1683 did in riotous and forciable manner enter upon the lands of the said John Lambert and then and there cutt downe the corne of thee said John Lambert. John Lambert the complaint...the jury bring in their verdict, that they finde the prisoners guilty for their contempt of authority in not obeying the magistrates. Thereupon the bench fyned theaforesaid John Newbold five poounds, the sayd John Woolston, Michaell Buffin, Thomas Revell, and William Wayt fifty shillings a peece, and bound them all to their good behaviour, and azuitt Michaell Newbold--being but a youth. p 23, 20 Dec 1683 -- John Newbold, John Woolston, Junr., Michael Buffin, Thomas Revell Jr., William Wayt formerly bound over to their good behaviour; quitted by proclamation paying their fees. p 34, 1684 -- Michaell Buffin and George Shinn, called before this court and for their breach of peace in wounding an Indian contrary to lawe fyned 51. being formerly convict therof.
