Facts and Events
Michael was one of our ancestor Jacob's younger brothers. He apparently did not go to Quebec with his older brothers although he would have been about 20 when they went(1792). He married a sister of Jacob's wife(Eva, sister of Hanna Maria). They had 13 children born between 1795 and 1821, well documented in Francine Hart's Ancestry World Tree: Baumhauer-Boomhower Descendants in North America. Unfortunately this tree is no longer available on the web. Information on www.bernehistory.org seems to indicate that Michael migrated to the Berne/Westerlo area of Albany County. Children listed there are: John J. b. 28 Feb 1797 d. 6 Mar 1868 George Jeremiah b. 9 Sep 1802 d. 1867 (not our ancestor who was born in Stanbridge, Que. 1837) Eveline b. 28 Dec 1811 d. 9 Jan 1897 Michael S. b. 22 Apr 1813 d. 3 Apr 1889 Abigail b. 14 Sep 1818 d. Unknown David Ellis has stated that. although he is reasonably sure Michael was a son of Jacob and Sarah that he has no documentation that proves it. Lee Martin equinephile1@yahoo.com shows the following children: 1. Sara BOOMHOWER b: 5 JUN 1795 in North Greenbush, Rensselaer, New York, USA 2. John BOOMHOWER b: 28 FEB 1797 in North Greenbush, Rensselaer, New York, USA 3. Sophronia BOOMHOWER b: 29 JAN 1799 in New York, USA 4. Aperia BOOMHOWER According to the 1800 census, Michael, mispelled as Boomhamer, was in Rensselaerville, Albany, NY with wife, one boy and a girl. He and wife were 26-45. Boy was under 10 (John) and girl was under 10. Girl would have to have been Sarah or Sophronia but not both. In 1810 Michael Boomhover, was still in Rensselaerville with 3 boys and 4 girls. As before we appear to be one girl short. _STATMARRIED References
