Merlyn F. Jackson of 601 Prince St., a native of Forest City, died at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 1988, in the B.J. Perino Nursing Home.

He was 100 years old. Mr. Jackson had owned and operated Jackson's Garage and Service at Forest City, retiring in 1956.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Maas Funeral Home, Manito. The Rev. Thomas Daly, Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Forest City Community Church, of which he was a member.

Born June 27, 1887, at Forest City, he was the son of Fuller and Lula Onstott Jackson. He married Lillie Belle Zimmerman Sept. 14, 1910, in Forest City. She died Feb. 8, 1982.

Surviving are three sons, Clarence of Pekin, John of South Bend, Ind., and Floyd of El Reno, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Louisa Palmer of Lincoln and Prudence Folkman of Canton. Six brothers preceded him in death.
