    "… Mercy, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Phipps) Roy of Charlestown where she was baptized 7 : 1 mo. 1675 (Wyman). She is mentioned as Mercy Nelson in her father's will of 6 Sept., 1705. In the probating of the will, 18 July 1710, and settlement of the estate, Francis Nelson is mentioned as her husband and was paid ten shillings 'for three jurneys from Rowley to Charlston' (Middlesex Probate, 19542). In the original Rowley record of her publishment and marriage to Francis Nelson, her name is given as Mercy 'Ray.'"
