- ↑ Previous note: "birth date is also given as 30 May 1657": that birth date belongs to Joanna, so is an error if attributed to Mehitable. No birth date is found in Eastham records and origin of date here, 8 Mar 1660/61 is unknown, and perhaps doubtful given that her husband's birth is usually estimated around 1666 (e.g., Source:Ferris, Mary Walton. Dawes-Gates Ancestral Lines, Vol. 2, p. 307). One secondary source (Doane and Bartley Descendants) does give 18 Mar 1661, but no evidence to support it. Birth of first child in 1688 most likely suggests birth in late 1660's. Source:Twining, Thomas Jefferson. Genealogy of the Twining Family does not give a birth date for "Mahitable".
