    Note:

    Maurice F. Cogswell served with the 85th Mountain Regiment, 10th Division, 5th Army. He fought the length of Italy and earned the combat infantry badge for participation in combat.
    He was born March 30, 1919, in Barry County to Frank and Elsie (Mead) Cogswell. He married Frances Gilliand before entering service, and they had sons, [Living individual] and [Living individual]. He and Frances separated, and he later married Catherine Palmer.
    He was a machinist and worked for an industrial press manufacturer.
    Maurice died from a heart attack Jan. 29, 1988. And was buried in Hastings Township Cemetery.
