Maud E. Fuchs, 90, a lifelong Milton area resident, passed away early Saturday morning, Nov. 22, 2008, at Nazareth House in Stoughton, WI. She was born Feb. 28, 1918, in Milton Junction, WI, the daughter of the late Charles & Maud (Scofield) Hill. She attended school in Milton, and was a graduate of Milton Union High School, Class of 1937. Maud was married to Emil Fuchs on June 27, 1964 in Milton. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1987. She was a very active member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milton, and had been a member of the Circle and the Ladies Aid. She loved walking, and could be seen walking all over Milton when the weather permitted. She especially enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and was happy to provide many hand-made items to friends and family. Maud loved reading, and was always happy to be able to enjoy a good western novel! Her greatest joy was her family, and she will be missed as a very devoted and loving Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, and Aunt!
Maud is survived by her son, Dale L. (Leslie) Brown of Waukesha, WI; her sister, Winnefred (Robert) Schmidt, of Milton; four grandchildren: Dawn Rothamer, Kathy Zamora, Robert Brown, and Lauren Brown; several great-grandchildren; and by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Raymond R. Brown; four brothers: Warren, Guy, Neal, and Gerald; and by her sister, Eunice.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 910 E. High St. Milton, with Rev. Larry Schwanke officiating. Burial will take place in Milton Lawns Memorial Park, Janesville. Friends may call on Tuesday morning from 9:30 until 11 a. m. at the Church. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials in her name may be made to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Whitcomb-Lynch-Albrecht Funeral Home, Milton is assisting her family with arrangements.
