Gerald C. Hill, 78, of 235 E. High St., died Friday, April 27, 1990 at the Memorial Community Hospital in Edgerton.
He was born in Milton on Dec. 8, 1911, the son of Charles William and Maud (Scofield) Hill. Mr. Hill married Irene May Lee on June 30, 1945 in Oshkosh. He worked as a machinist at Parker Pen Company in Janesville from 1935 until his retirement in 1976. He was president of the Milton Junction Cemetery Association from 1977 until 1989. Mr. Hill was a member of the United Methodist Church in Milton. He was a descendant of the Hills who settled in Waukesha County from Cheshire, England in 1842, and the Scofields who were among the first settlers of Stamford, Conn., in 1641.
He is survived by his wife, Irene; two children, Gene of Portland, Maine, and Karen (William) Huebner of Milton; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Michelle and William Charles Huebner, all of Milton; one brother, Guy (Camella) Hill of Chetek; two sisters, Maud Fuchs of Milton, and Winnefred (Carliss) Griffith, of Janesville.
Services were Tuesday, May 1 at Faith United Methodist Church in Milton. Burial will be in Milton Junction Cemetery.
