An extensive Matthew Chambers genealogy report appeared in the Sept. 1981 Gilboa, OH Gazette, pg.8. However, family history article on pages 10-11 offer some variances in specific data on Matthew Chambers. These matters were not researched because this family is a bit more removed from the direct Braught line than the author selected to analyze carefully before 2000. Allen Co, OH Biographical History , pg. 516, states that Mr. Chambers settled in Gilboa, Putnam Co, OH in 1838 and for years kept a store there. He had been a soldier in the War of 1812, was Methodist and died at age 87.
