Mary was widowed between 1850 and 1860. While we find her married with her husband in 1850 in Cumberland, Rhode Island, for some reason, in 1860 she is in Champaign-Urbana, IL with her daughters, working as a washer woman-- either she left him or he died. By 1870, they have all returned to Rhode Island-- to Providence. Her daughters are lace makers and dress makers. She's still alive in 1880, living with her single daughter, Caroline, in Woonercket?, Providence Co., Rhode Island. After her death, single Caroline moves in with her widowed sister, Anna Wilcox in Blackstown, Worcester Co., MA (1900 and 1910).
