Mary Timothy was born on 4th November 1807 in the parish of Whitechapel in Middlesex, in the inner eastern suburbs of London. She was the daughter of Mary Timothy, formerly Davies, and her husband William Timothy, a milkman. Young Mary was baptised when she was six months old at the Borough Welsh Congregational Chapel on Guildford Street in Southwark. She has yet to be traced after her baptism.
