Facts and Events
Name Mary Almy Seaman
Gender Female
Birth[1] 7 Jan 1817
Marriage 12 Sep 1836 to William M. Valentine
Death[1] 28 May 1838
Burial[2] Jackson Family Graveyard, Wantagh, Nassau, New York, United States

The date of death on both the transcriptions at "Cemeteries of Old Wantagh" and at Find-a-Grave appear to be in error saying she died in 1858 at 21 years of age. Mary Powell Bunker's book "Long Island Genealogies", pg 161 says that Mary Almy was born 7 Jan 1817 and died in 1838. When enlarging the photo of her tombstone at Find-a-Grave her date of death does look like May 28, 1838, not 1858.

The owner of the memorial at Find-a-Grave was contacted 28 Jan 2012 to help verify or refute the above conclusion. Later info at the Find-a-Grave site may reflect a change.
