    MARY A. ROWLES

The subject of this sketch was born at Covington, Ind., June 8th, 1836, and died in Des Moines, Iowa, Sept. 14th, 1918.

A good many years of her life were spent in this county, and were full of sacrifice and usefulness for others. She spent twenty years in caring for her aged parents and her duties to them were full of love and devotion.

In later years she was greatly afflicted but bore her suffering with supreme endurance and waited patiently for the release from bodily pain and found abundant entrance into the eternal life where there is no death.

The remains were brought to this city and funeral services held from the home of her sister, Mrs. Sarah Bonnett, Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. W. Goodsell. Interment was made in the Chariton cemetery.
