Mary (Polly) Narcissa Owen,b. 22 Jan. 1819 Alabama, married Stephen Bradley 17 Oct.1838 in Pike County, Alabama. They were on the 1840 Pike County,Alabama census, but in March 1848 were in Randolph County where Stephen was ordained deacon, and he and his wife,Polly G.(sic) Bradley were received by letter into the Church of Christ Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church (See Marriage Record) . In 1850 they received letters of dismission at the same time David Allen and his wife did. Both families were in Smith County, Texas when the census was taken. In 1851 they moved to Henderson county where Polly Owen Bradley is said to have been the first one buried in the Davis Cemetery at Baxter under a shade tree. The children of Polly Narcissa Owen and Stephen Bradley: Children: a. Melvin Monroe Bradley, b. 27 Nov. 1939 Al., m.Mary Emeline Gauntt 3 Jan. 1861 Henderson County, the daughter of Luke and Sibby Elizabeth Gauntt. He was taken prisoner of war in the Confederate army and died in a federal prison in New York. b. John Flemmons Tine Bradley b. 28 march 1842 married Mary Ellen Burns 1879; d. 3 June 1910. c. Polly Elmira Bradley b. Alabama. (1) Washington Tate d. Civil War (2) William Kirkham Smith. d. Sarah Margaret Bradley b. 14 April 1846 Alabama; m. Reuben Kirkendoll 1 Jan. 1873; d. 17 April 1928. Lived in Buffalo Gap, Tx. 1880. e. Meldred Bradley b. 22 July 1851 (recorded 23 July) in Owen Bible married Thomas Bradley (Red Shirt) Miller b. 9 March 1845-17 December 1936. They remained in Henderson County. Stephen Bradley married (2) Rebecca Elminer Owen, sister of Polly. He had a land grant in the old Aligator community , now called Baxter Community. The land is on the old road from the new community to Athens. Also Samuel Tine Owen sold or deeded his land in that area to him.
