Known only from Parish records, Mary/Maria does not appear with her family on the 1881 census. I have not been able to find the family in the 1871 census. The hard copy has been checked, and neither the surname nor the street name are included. The street changed name, so maybe this confused the enumerators?. Another circumstantial piece of evidence for her death as an infant, is that, in 1878, another daughter was born to Bridget and Hugh and named Mary Ellen, 'replacing' an Ellen who had died aged 10 months, and probably 'replacing' Mary at the same time. I have not found her death/burial record.
