MARY ELIZABETH MASSIE LEE Age 79, of Marysville, OH, formerly of New Carlisle, OH, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at The Gables at Green Pastures in Marysville, OH, surrounded by family and friends.

She retired in 1995 from the New Carlisle post office, where she served as a window clerk for 25 years.

A 1952 graduate of Westville High School, she grew up one of ten children on the family farm out side of St Paris, OH.

A deeply devoted wife, dedicated mother and fun-loving grandmother, she suffered the grievous loss of her dead husband, Bill, in 1998. A year later, she began to create a satisfying and fulfilling life after moving to Marysville to be closer to her daughter's family. She took a job at the Frame Connection in downtown Marysville until it closed, worked as a reception desk clerk at the Union County YMCA for many years and also was a 1200-hour volunteer at Memorial Hospital of Union County's Morey Desk.

She attended First Presbyterian Church of Marysville, where she taught fifth and sixth grade Sunday School with her daughter.

She was a member of Terre Haute United Methodist Church in Urbana, OH. She cherished working at Union County Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings with her daughter's "Pink House Details" baked goods.

She was a big Ohio State Buckeyes fan and adored her "granddog" Violet. She will be especially remembered for her lively sense of humor and joke telling.

She was born on October 1, 1934 in Champaign County, OH, to the late Walter and Elva Slagle Massie.

She was also predeceased by her husband of 44 years, William H Lee, whom she married on August 21, 1954, at her family's homestead; her siblings, Eloise Putman, Raymond Massie, Francis Massie and Marcella Mahan; and a nephew, Michael Schneider.

She is survived by her daughter, her grandson; her granddaughter; three sisters and two brothers; two sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and good friends.
