Mary LOGIE was born 9jul1813 (R. Huggard) and died 11feb1889 in Edinburgh. In 1871 Mary Logie (b. Trone, Ayrshire, according to ancestry.com, probably Troon) lived at Cambroe House, Bothwell, Lanarkshire, with William Logie (b. 1809 Barony), sheriff “lab” of Lanarkshire, and Jane H. Logie (b. 1817 Linlithgow) (census). According to the 1881 census, Mary was born in Irvine, Ayrshire, and lived in 1881 at 67 Leamington Terrace, Edinburgh; also at this address were Jane Hewat LOGIE nee BLACK (born 1817, Linlithgow), Sophia Spens BLACK, Janes’s niece, (born 1844, Glasgow) and Anna Barbara LOGIE, visiting from Hamilton (born 18nov1856, Hamilton, Ontario, died 12oct1908), daughter of Mary’s half-brother Judge Alexander LOGIE and Mary Ritchie CROOKS) (R. Huggard). Mary had lived with her stepmother in Kingston, Ontario until 1866. She apparently then moved to Hamilton, Ontario where a half-brother, Judge Alexander LOGIE (1823-1873), lived and then to Scotland to live with the widow of Sheriff William LOGIE. She was very active with charitable Christian work and was secretary of an Orphans Home. Latterly she lived at 57 Leamington Terrace, Edinburgh with her sister in law Jane Hewat LOGIE nee BLACK. (R.
