Mary Lidyard may have been the daughter of John Lidyard and wife Charity. His will is in Moorland Manor, County of Philadelphia. April 5, 1748, Book G. 256. He names his wife Charity, and children John, Martha Newman, Grace Morgan, Mary Newman, Uriah Marks and Ann Lewis. Exec: Randal Morgan and Thomas Lloyd. Wit: David Malsby, Mary Malsby and John Hart. (Uria Ann Lidyard married John Marks.) (Grace born Sept. 1716, died 12/20/1757 in Bucks Co., PA. married Randle Morgan who died 7/26/1773 in Fauquier Co., VA.)

This land was acknowledged by Mary, John and wife Honour, Walter and wife Catherine.

Land deed, Northern Neck Grants G, 1747-51, p. 23 Mary Newman relic and widow of Jonathan Newman with sons John and Walter own 216 acres on Smith Creek in Augusta Co., Va. on July 21, 1749.

John Lincoln, clerk of the church, in 1788...The pioneer church was organized 8/6/1756...9 members include: Samuel Newman and Martha Newman...1st Communion...11 members..."Rees Thomas and Mary States, belonging to other churches in Pennsylvania, craved transient Communion, and were admmitted." Samuel Newman was called to the Office of Deacon...Samuel Newman and wife were members of the Montgomery Church in the County of Philadelphia. They became the first members of the new church.

p. 12...Mary Newman joined, she was the wife of Jonathan Newman. She belonged to the Church of Christ in Southampton in Buck Co., PA.

p. 586-587...Samuel Newman and wife Martha, and Mary Newman, wife of Jonathan Newman were among the founders and early members of the Smiths & Linville's Creek Baptist Church of later Rockingham. They were from PA. Samuel and Jonathan were probably descendants of the Oyster Bay Newmans. Jonathan died in Old Augusta prior to the establishment of the church. His estate settlement by Samuel was recorded Feb. 1750 (Will Bk. 1, p. 93 & 319.) On April 20, 1765, Samuel and Martha asked for a letter of dismissal as they were preparing to move to the Carolinas.

Jonathan Newman died before Feb. 20, 1748 in Augusta Co., VA. His wife was Mary. They had 2 children: Walter, following his father's death, removed his mother and Samuel to Shenandoah Co., VA. He was a soldier in Dunmore's War and a large planter. He married Catherine _______?_______ and had 10 children.
