    Mary Jane Dunn, 99, of Springfield, passed away at 11:10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at St. John's Hospice.

    Mary was born March 3, 1917 in Springfield, the daughter of Zepho and Emma Madison Laughner. She married Alfred Dunn on November 11, 1939 in Missouri; he preceded her in death in 1995.

    Mary co-owned Dunn Paint Company with her husband for over thirty years. Mary was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, and a former member of both Riverton Christian Church and West Side Christian Church. She enjoyed playing bridge and pinochle, teaching bible school, working in the library at the Illinois Presbyterian Home, reading, cooking, traveling, gardening, canning and needlepoint. She loved spending time with her family especially the great-grandchildren. She dearly loved her friends and church activities.

    She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Beverly Sue McClanahan; grandson, Michael McClanahan and two sisters, Marge and Helen Overby.

    She is survived by her son, John (wife, Sandy) Dunn of Springfield; four grandchildren, Michael Dunn of Bradenton, Florida, Alicia (husband, Tom) Haggerty of St. Charles, IL, Charlie (wife, Shannon) Dunn of Colorado Springs, CO, Ashley (husband, Chris) Barham of Springfield, and Thomas (wife, Jen) McClanahan of Denver, CO; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

    Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
