21 January 1887.
On Thursday, January 13th, Mrs. Mary F. McGowan, consort of J. F. McGowan, aged thirty-five years. Deceased leaves a husband and four children to mourn her loss. She lived an exemplary Christian life and died in the triumphs of faith. She was a member of the Congregational church. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. H. D. Herr. She was laid away to her long rest just two weeks after the opening of the new Metropolitan Hotel, which she had labored so hard to prepare for the accommodation of the public.
“Asleep in Jesus! Blessed sleep From which none ever wake to week.” We extend our sympathies to the bereaved family.
