Brickwall Ancestor

For now I have Mary Ann Gasson listed as a Brickwall ancestor. Most descendants (including myself) believe she is the daughter of a James Gasson, a fisherman in Sussex, England and a Mary Filmer, possibly from a farm family. Since there is more than one possible Mary Ann Gasson, and so far more sources have not been located to confirm she is the correct Mary Ann Gasson.

Birth and Death Conclusions

So far I have been unable to locate another source which can confirm she is the same person. That Mary Ann Gasson baptism has been located. This Mary Ann Gasson's age is based on the English Census, and according to the 1841 & 1851 English Census she was born in England, and according to her husband's death notice in the English Magazine called "Gentleman's Magazine" she died a month before him in the United States. She is probably buried with her husband in Cleveland, Ohio. Thanks to the new online LDS Labs database "Ohio Deaths & Burials, 1854-1997" I have found a Mary Chatterton which fits. This Mary Chatterton age 37 years at her death and buried in the Woodland Cemetery.

For now I assume she was Church of England while she lived in England. It is possible that she or her husband might not have been Church of England. What religion they were in the United States is unknown.
