Mary Conklin, daughter of Stephen and Sarah (Mills) Conklin, Jr. was born on 26 March 1835 in Clermont County, Ohio. After the death of her parents, George M. Mahan was appointed as her guardian. In 1857 she married Marcus Walker in Richland County, Illinois. Marcus was born around 1830 in Ohio. The Olney Advocate reports that Mary died on 27 April 1887. She is buried at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Olney (Richland County), Illinois.
