Facts and Events
Mary Bigg's origins are unknown. Her first confirmed sighting is on Christmas Day 1710 when she married a man named Holiday Hickinbottom at Caddington in Bedfordshire. At the time of their marriage she was described as being of the parish of Flamstead in Hertfordshire. Mary and Holiday appear to then have settled in the nearby town of Dunstable, where they had five children baptised between 1717 and 1726. They may also have been the parents of a sixth child who was buried as an infant in Dunstable in 1714 but whose parents are not named. Mary appears to have spent the rest of her life in Dunstable. She was buried there on 19th Setember 1741. Holiday outlived her by less than a month. References
