Holiday Hickinbottom was baptised on 2nd February 1719 at Dunstable in Bedfordshire, son of Mary Hickinbottom, formerly Bigg, and her husband Holiday Hickinbottom. Holiday's parents died within a month of each other in 1741, when Holiday was 22 years old.

On 26th July 1744, Holiday married a Sarah Baker in London. Baptisms have been found for four children they had together in the Holborn and Clerkenwell areas of the city through the 1750s and 1760s. Holiday and Sarah have yet to be traced after the baptism of their youngest known child in 1765.
