Whittaker, 61, former president of the Richfield Commercial and Savings Bank and native of Circleville. / He was born at Circleville Feb. 10, 1892, a son of James Christopher and Hannah Horton Whittaker. He attended Circleville schools and later Brigham Young University and the University of Utah college of engineering. He was a veteran of World War I. / Mr. Whittaker was well-known throughout the Intermountain West for his many business activities which included livestock raising in southern Utah and Colorado. For the past 30 years he has been a Salt Lake resident. / In 1921 he married Winnie Evans in Salt Lake City. / Survivors include his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Woodrow H. (Marjorie) Sylvester, and two sons, Richard E. and Ronald C. Whittaker, all of Salt Lake City; a brother and three sisters, Earl H. Whittaker, Circleville; Mrs. John S. Christensen and Mrs. A.W. Thorley, Cedar City; and Mrs. E.L. Cox, Richfield. / Funeral services and burial were conducted Wednesday afternoon 9in Salt Lake City.(RR)
