  3. Her headstone lists her birthyear as 1859. If that is correct, she would have married at age 11. However, she was age 15 and living at home with Balas and Ellender on 29 June 1870 according to Census records. On the 1900 census, she was age 46, b. Oct 1853; M 29 years, 16 children, 14 living.
  4. In the 1910 Fannin County Census, she is living next door to Dasson and Maud Patterson, two houses from Lewis and Eller. She is listed as 54, widowed, had 16 children with 13 living. In the household are Essie (dau) age 15, and Orpha (dau) age 12. Her occupation is listed as farmer, owning her property.
