He donated land and building for a post office. The postal records show that the Post Ofice at Lewner was est. 21 Apr 1908 with Lewis C. Turner appointed postmaster on that date. His successor Miss Zelma Auberry assumed charge 12 Mar 1937 and was acting postmaster on 17 Mar, 1937. Records show they were the only postmasters appointed to this post office. The office was discontinued 15 Feb 1955 (mail was sent to Louring). [Prob should be Loving] Map shows Lewner was just across Union Co line near Oak Grove Church. [Personal Note: Noel showed me in the summer of 1996 where the old post office was and it was on Turner Gap Road.]
