In the 1880 census in Steuben Warren Co., Indiana, Marshal Compton is 68 OH, farming; with wife Nancy J. IN (father VA, mother IN); and children Allie 19 IN; and Charles 17 IN. Also in the household are Ray Barwich 7 IN and son Francis 30 IN 'clerk in dry good' (parents OH). {Page 62B} Sons John F. and King B. are listed in Vermillion Co., Indiana. Wm. Russell's widow and son are listed with her brother William Cronkhite in Steuben.
