From Nancy Murphy:

Marjorie, the third surviving child of Dolph and Lois Barker, followed her mother’s career as a teacher. She married Joseph P. Killebrew in May 1943, but was widowed the next year when the B-29 he piloted was lost over Japan. Marjorie (also known as Tot) and Joe had a daughter, who was born in June 1944.
After the war, Tot visited her sisters in St. Augustine, Florida, and decided to move there with her young daughter. She met and married William Henry (Bill) Barrett, Jr., a merchant seaman from a local family. They had three children before that marriage ended in divorce in the early 1960s. Marjorie remained in the large house the couple had purchased to accommodate their growing family.
Even with financial help from the divorce settlement, it was difficult supporting four children. Tot first returned to her teaching career as a gym teacher at the local high school, but her children suffered from their mother’s daily absence. She began operating a kindergarten at her home in 1962. This school operated until the public schools began including kindergarten classes in the late 1960s. In 1968, she joined Richard M. (Dick) Swain as a partner in the Straw Market and Spanish Heritage Tours. After his death in 1972, she bought his share of the businesses and operated them alone. She sold both businesses in 1979.
Tot died in June 1981 from cancer after an illness of several months. She is buried with her Barker family in Chattooga County.
