InformationNOTE: This information needs to be verified MARIE-JOSEPHE was baptized 11 Feb 1747 in Little Red Church, Destrehan, St Charles, LA - 1770: On roll of Second Company of Militia of the coast of the Germans: Jean Baptiste Rodrigue (age 33, born in Canada, married). - 1784 census of the German Coast: Jean Baptiste Rodrigue, wife Marie Joseph Dervin - males 6 <13, 1 (49+), females 3 <13, 1 (49+) - From 1770 until his death in 1803 Jean Baptiste was a prominent planter on the German Coast, cultivating with slaves a sizable farm of 9 x 40 arpents (about 305 acres) along the river near present Edgard. His 5 sons were also successful farmers in the same area. - 1810 St. John census (west bank): Widow Rodrigue, males 1(11-16), 1(27-45); females 1(11-16), 1(17-26), 1(45+); 14 slaves. References
