Our ancestor Christina Kelp was born 31 July 1732 in Maxsain, Germany; 19 married about 1754 to Christian Luther; and died about May, 1812, at Ephrata, Pennsylvania.20
Christina (Kelp) Luther and her husband Christian; and Christina's siblings, John Adam Kelp, Jonathan Kelp and Catharine Kelp may be buried in unmarked graves on the Cloister grounds. It is more likely all are buried at nearby Mt. Zion Cemetery. This graveyard was used to bury soldiers from the Battle of Brandywine who had died from their wounds or illness after having been hospitalized at the Cloister. 21 Mt. Zion may also have been the final resting place for those more loosely associated with the Cloister, but who were not deemed worthy of being interred in the hallowed ground of the Cloister cemetery.
