- This Indenture made October 2, 1801 between John Adam Kelp, Jonathan Kelp and Catharine Kelp all of Cocolico Township in Lancaster County PA. and Jonas Crabill Shenandoah County Va. yeoman.
- Whereas William Russell by a lease and release bearing date the fifth and sixty day of July in 1757 for the consideration therein mentioned 4950 granted patent to the said William Russell lying in the fork of Shenado river to hold the said 140 acres of land unto him the said Samuel Echerling as in and by the said lease and release admitted to record at a court held for Frederick County on Tuesday the 2nd day of August 1957 and the said Samuel Echerling died first having made his last will and testament January 15, 1781 wherein and whereby he did give and bequeath the above mentioned 140 acres of land unto Ezehiel Sangmeister and the said Ezekiel Sangmeister did first having made his last will and testament dated September 16, 1782 wherein and whereby he did give and bequeath the said 140 acres of land together with some other land unto the said John Adam Kelp, Jonathan Kelp and Catharine Kelp as in and by the said last will and testament of Samuel Echerling and Ezekiel Sangmeister both since their decease duly proven and remaining in the registers office in and for the said County of Lancaster. Now this Indenture, Witnesseth that the said John Adam Kelp, Jonathan Kelp and Catharine Kelp for $500 to them paid by Jonas Crabill sold unto Jonas Crabill ass that above mentioned tract of land situate in Shenandoah County Va. the courses and distances including the said land are as follows; Beginning at two red oaks and a chestnut oak on the West side of a hill running thence S 10 W 64 poles to a red oak and two chestnut oaks on the brow of a steep hill thence S 8 W 42 poles between two white oaks at a stony drain thence N 43 W 98 poles to Christian Bowmans land thence running with the same N 47 E 10 poles to three white oaks corner to Hockmans thence with his line N 47 E 60 poles to a pine thence N 15 W 120 poles to a white oak thence N 9 E 40 poles to a Elm on the river bank corner to Hockman thence down the courses of the river as follows S 63 E 32 poles to two locusts and a Lynn on the river bank at the foot of a steep hill thence to the beginning containing 140 acres of land
