Frederick Whittenburg & Margaret Benson were married on February 19, 1764 in Rowan Co., North Carolina. They had at least 10 children, 4 sons and 6 daughters. The family lived in Rowan Co., North Carolina until 1781, then moved about 1783 to Greene Co., Tennessee. Frederick wrote his will in 1804, naming ten of his children, and specifying the birth order of the four sons. The last name on records and descendants for this family has also been spelled WHITTENBERG. Frederick Whittenburg died on October 24, 1804 in Greene Co., Tennessee. Margaret Benson Whittenburg died in 1829 in Greene Co., Tennessee.
