    Margaret Tucker and Andrew Wescott were brought before Justice William Pepperell to answer for the crime of bastardy "[a]ppearing & being Sworn Continued Constant in Said Accusation face to face [but] not being Yet delivered w'th Said Child" York 6:23

    Andrew Wescott "being Accused of being the father of a bastard Child begotton on the body of Margaret Tucker" (York Co. Ct. of Com. Pleas, 4 Oct. 1726, 6:237; 3 Jan. 1727, 6:241).

    Andrew Wescott, house carpenter of York "formerly of Kittery," "reputed father of a bastard begotten on the body of Margaret Tucker"; the court ordered Andrew Wescott to pay support (York Co. Ct. of Com. Pleas, 18 Sept. 1729).

    Andrew apparently failed to pay as a warrant was issued for his arrest on 4 March 1730 (York Co. Ct. of Com. Pleas, Jan. 1730, 7:123).

    In the July 1732 court session, Andrew Wescott of York was again charged with the crime of "fathering a bastard child, having begotten on the body of Margaret Tucker of Kittery." (York Co. Ct. of Com. Pleas, July 1732, 9:71 .)
