Research notes

Margaret is said to have married first John Montgomery in SW VA. Supposedly the family moved to Kentucky where her husband was KBI'd, and Margaret captured. According to one story:

Mrs Margaret Edmiston Montgomery and Dr./Capt. John Montgomery were captured by Indians in KY and John Montgomery was killed. Mrs Montgomery made a trail by breaking the weeds as she went. Robert Harald, Capt of a Company who followed their trail, overtook them and she ran into his arms. He later married her and they had 10 children. Ephemeral Source
