Born in OH, no proof of where but probably Wayne or Logan Co. Married John H. Holland in Logan Co., IL on Oct. 17, 1861 per Illinois State Archives. Her name is listed as Margaret Dorr instead of Derr. Per FTM report from Steve Holland: Margaret was a school teacher near New Holland. After the death of her first husband she married Nelson Sutton. That marriage is listed in the Illinois State Archives. According to the 1880 census, Sheridan, Logan, IL, her name was M. Linzenfelter with sons, O. and Ed. L. and daughter Elizabeth. The Illinois Archives show a marriage of a John F. Singenfelter to a Mrs. Margart (spelled that way) J. Holland on Jan. 4, 1876 in Logan Co. IL so she evidently was married to him in between marriages to John Holland and Nelson Sutton.

Obit for Margaret Jane Derr:

Mrs. Margaret Jane Sutton of New Holland, died in the St. Clara's Hospital 7 p.m. Monday after a lingering illness. The decedent was brought to this city from the home of a son near New Holland not long since. The deceased was born in Ohio and lived in Illinois for the past 55 years. She is survived by two sons, one living in New Holland and the other in Colorado. Besides these, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Onno Niewold and Mrs. Henry Niewold of New Holland. The date of the funeral is not arranged owing to the absence of the son living in Colorado who telegraphed Tuesday that he would be here for the services. When he arrives, then the services will be conducted at the C. Church in New Holland, in charge Rev. W. M McMurray of this city, burial in Richmond Grove Cemetery.

1880 census has Margaret listed on the same page as her brother (half-brother?) James W. Derr.
