 Marcus was a member of the B'nai B'rith, Miriam Lodge No. 56 In Marysville, Yuba Co. Ca.  He is listed as being a chartered member, and was a member to an unknown date.  He held many possitions in the order including being elected Presidenton 25 December 1864.  The Judah L. Magnes Museum, 2911 Russell Street, Berkeley, California 94705 has film of the minutes from this order from 1864 to 1869.  F 700c: Mar, 13B56 .
