Marcella Kisiel was born in Poland about 1882 or 1883 to Albert and Mary Kisiel. By the time she was 19 Marcella had immigrated to the United States, as on 21 April 1902, at age 19, she married a 22-year old Polish immigrant, Anthony Przetacznik, in Detroit, Michigan. They had one child, Clara Przetacznik, born on 26 March 1905 in Detroit.

Her husband Anthony worked as a laborer and died on 17 Feb. 1906 of meningitis with a contributing factor of nephritis. Marcella remarried within the next few years, as the 1910 U.S. Census lists Clara Prezetacznik, age 5, living with her step-father Andrew Sodroski (or Solobroski), age 30, and his wife "Celia," age 27. (Evidently this is a nickname for Marcella, as the age is correct. She was also known as "Mary.") In later life Clara once described her step-father as "mean." Also living with them were three men in their 20s and a woman age 70, all born in "Austria" (probably Poland), presumably boarders since they all had different last names.

Marcella died in 1924 in Detroit, Michigan.
