HISTORY: "Mahlon Willson, s/o Samuel Willson and Deborah Collins, left the Quaker settlement in the year 1798 and bought land in Green twp on its extreme edge toward Newton. His homestead was near the Big Spring and was west of Springdale on the road to Fredon; and there, after Mahlon's day, dwelt his son Obed, and there now dwells Obed's son, Obed." page 50.
