    "Passed away Wednesday morning June 21, 1978 at Crestmont after a lengthy illness. Age 87 years. Miss Shay was born April 14, 1891 in Gilford, Mi. She was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Miss Shay was a member of the Grand Rapids Dominican order and for 13 years was associated with Saginaw St. Peter and Paul's. She retired from Gabriel Richard Detroit Board of Education with over 50 years of teaching special education...She was a member of the Third Order of Discalced Carmelites..."

    Funeral service will take place 10:00am Friday at St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church...with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery...
