    QUAY 3 "SHAY - Funeral services took place this morning for Mrs. Caroline Shay, a well known Merrill resident, who died Wednesday at St. Joseph's hospital, Detroit, after a short illness. The service conducted by the Rev. Fr. Daniel J. Wynne, took place at Sacred Heart church and burial was in Sacred Heart cemetery.
    Mrs Shay was born Jan 10, 1863 in Macomb County, and came to Reese with her parents when a child. She married John Shay in 1883 and they moved to Lakefield township. There they stayed for six years before coming to Jonesfield township where they remained until Mr. Shay's death in 1933. She leaves...a sister, Mrs. Mary Erard? of Pontiac and two brothers, Gene Hautebergen of Wixom and Henry Hautebergen of Alberta, Canada."
