Excerpt from a letter written to my grandmother, Dorothy Etta Landick Conn, from Lydia Hanagan (daughter of Alonzo Hanagan). In June of 1957:

"I don't think your grandmother had any middle name. Everywhere I've seen it listed as just plain Etta- not Marietta. Her Mother was Lydia Trask Putnam, who was named for her grandmother Lydia Trask Putnam. Lydia Trask (the original one) was the daughter of Jonathan Trask who was killed with General Wolfe at Quebec during the Revolution. She married Aaron Putnam, and her son Amos married Christiana Wormwood.
