Facts and Events
Excerpt from a letter to my grandmother, Dorothy Etta Landick Conn, from Lydia Hanagan, daughter of Alonzo Hanagan. Dated June 6, 1957: "Lydia Trask (Putnam)...married David Hanagan (not Hannigan). Grandfather was born in Londonderry Ireland. I had his citizenship papers, but gave them to my niece Ruth, since I have no offspring to pass such things on. Lydia Trask Putnam and David Hanagan had six children. Isa, for whom your Aunt Isa was named and who died shortly after her marriage to George Gillison. Then came Etta, your grandmother, Fannie, Alonzo, Lyman and Caroline. Alonzo, was my father and my mother was Mary Ameila Bradbury...." Note: in the 1880 census, all the children were consistantly spelling the name "Hanagan," and Lydia Hanagan points out that this is the proper spelling (She SHOULD know, after all, it is her name). I think other spellings were simply misspellings. PUTNAM FAMILY GENEALOGICAL CHART Image Gallery
