Facts and Events
In 1972 Eva Miller Jensen related that Lydia Miller Wolfe, who lived in Commerce IA, came to Glendon with her two children, a boy named Greeley and a girl, Ann. Lydia was very ill and thought she had consumption. She said she wanted to die in the log cabin of Aunt Isabelle. After living here while she got better. Uncle Jim Miller told her son Greeley Wolfe that since his mother was better they must move on, so they went to Menlo and rented a house and got a job here. Eva told us that not long after, Lydia had a tooth extracted, got blood poisoning and died of that. Eva didn’t know what happened to Ann, but Greeley lived in Des Moines and he came and visited his Grandma Miller at least twice while Uncle Jim and his family lived here with Grandma and Uncle Will. |
