Lydia is mentioned in the estate papers of her sister Pamelia i n 1860 (as Lydia Beumer) and in the estate papers of her brothe r John N. Flandreau in 1879 (as Lydia Beumer of Ropville, Alamak ee County, Iowa). In Pamelia's will she receives $500 which i s the same amount her unmarried sister Sarah Jane receives. On e wonders why she needed more money that most of her siblings - - had Charles died? Were they hard up?
