The Dallas Morning News 13 Dec 1946 Death Claims Rylie Resident Mrs. Buford Jett, 72, lifelong resident of Dallas County, died Thursday at her home on the old Kaufman Highway at Rylie. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Rylie Christain Church with the Rev. J. Montgomery, vice president for Texas Christain University officiating, assisted by the Rev. R. W. Robinson. Burial will be in Rylie Cemetery. Mrs. Jett, the former Lula Huldah Freeman, was born at Scyene March 9, 1874, the daughter of W. S. and Susan Freeman, pioneer residents of Dallas County. On November 15, 1894, she was married to Buford Jett. She had been a member of the Rylie Christain Church since 1915. Survivors are her husband, three sons, R. C. Jett, Dallas; A. B. Jett and Barney Jett, Rylie; three daughters, Mrs. E. B. Range, Mesqute; Mrs. C. C. Jobson of Meridian, Bosque County and Mrs. C. J. Murphrey, Seagoville; five sisters, Mrs. T. G. Dawdy, Mrs. Rose Carder of Mangum, Okla., Mrs. Max Goodman, Rylie; Mrs. S.S. Cumby, Arlington; and Mrs. Jay Callahan of Rocky, Okla. four brothers, Ed Freeman, Dallas; Tom Freeman, James Freeman both of St. Louis, Mo., and Crocket Freeman of California; fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her grandsons will be pallbearers. References
