    Ludwig Schatzinger was a warm and friendly person.  He was also very musically inclined.  He played harmonica and loved to listen to good radio music.  At Christmas he would try to teach his children and grandchildren some new Christmas songs.  Later in his life he received an award for the oldest active singer in the Men's Choir.
    He would usually come to visit his daughter Hedwig and her children once a month and he would bring gadgets to show the grandchildren.  In the winter he would let his hair grow out to stay warm and Klara would refuse to kiss him, because of all his facial hair.  
    Ludwig's wife Magdalena was often short-tempered with him, saying that he was lazy and that he had squandered all her familiy's fortune.  Ludwig was a tailor.
