Written by Chester Claff: There is a headstone in Lowell Cemetery with the names Lucia, Lizzie and Hattie, presumably babies who did not survive. (see new information under each child's name)

According to the 1910 census Lucia gave birth to five babies and in that year two were still living. Presumably the 2 living were Artemas B JR and Henry. The 3 deceased were infants Lucia, Lizzie and Hattie. That leaves Elizabeth and Harriet who presumably were not listed as births in 1910. We know that the second Lizzie (Elizabeth) was an adoption, as we find her name was originally Lizzie McBaine in the publication "List of persons whose names have been changed in Massachusetts" on page 198. The appearance in 1880 of a second Harriet is still a small mystery in 2019.

Sadly, only the oldest of her 5 children, Artemas Brooks Woodworth JR. outlived Lucia as did Harriet Woodworth Stewart. Son Henry and adopted daughter Elizabeth died before their mother.
