According to Dorothy A. Kendall Lola Ledford Ball is the grandmother of Clara Ledford Kendall, wife of Vernon Clare Kendall. It appears that Lola is the aunt of Clara, Lola's brother being Charles W. Ledford.
Mrs. Lola May Ball died at Auburn in Placer County March 13, 1932. She was born in Sutter City October 1, 1869 the daughter of the late Simpson and Emma Ledford. She married Jay Dee Ball November 30, 1886 (he died August 8, 1915). She moved to Auburn about 1920. There were five children: Mrs. Clyde Baker of Elk, Mrs. Glenn Kutch of Sacramento, Miss Hazel Ball of Auburn, Raymond Ball of Grass Valley and the late Clair Ball who died October 7, 1919. A brother, Charles Ledford of Point Arena and two sisters, Mrs. Ruel Perkins of Fort Bragg and Mrs. Louis Thompson of San Jose, also survived. The funeral was at Point Arena March 15th led by Rev. J. Lewis Kent. Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery. (Jay Dee's death was August 3, 1915 per obituary.)
