Obituary:Ball, Raymond R. 05/17/1968 Mendocino Beacon

Raymond R. Ball died May 16, 1968 in a Fort Bragg hospital. Born at Boonville June 28, 1889, he went with his family to Point Arena where he grew up. He married in Sacramento March 23, 1929. He and his wife Erma operated a trailer court at Nevada City for 20 years. She died in 1951 and he moved to Sacramento and in 1960 to Elk to live with his sister. He was a veteran of World War I. Two sisters survived; Mrs. Clyde Baker of Elk and Mrs. Glenn Wilson of West Sacramento. Rev. Roy Nielson led the funeral service in Fort Bragg May 18th. Graveside rites were held on the 20th in Grass Valley, Rev. Lyndell Witt officiating.

  25. All of the documentation except his gravestone gives his birth date as 28 June 1889 including his draft registration card which he filled out and signed. Therefore even though his gravestone gives his birth date as 18 June 1889, I believe that 28 June is correct.
